Comf,
Thankyou for your story
As I read my heart rate went up as if I were you in that predicament myself.
It would have been very scary, and i am so glad your better now.
You have a wonderful way with words Comf!
Best wishes ,jez
i have always had trouble breathing.
in track i was great for a quick burst of speed in the 50 yard dash, but couldn't move enough air in and out to keep myself going for the longer runs like the 330. i had sleep apnea really bad, with the classic symptoms where i stopped breathing for a while and then suddenly snorted myself awake gasping for breath.
for most of my life, surgery wasn't an option due to my jw lifestyle and employment choices (cleaning business = no insurance).
Comf,
Thankyou for your story

for the majority of humans, certain events are surrounded by tradition and ritual.
marriage, the birth of children, entrance into adulthood, and death are all life-events which will be marked by most with a form of religious ceremony.
for the few who have left off affiliation with a religious organization, these events are marked differently - more by tradition than by mystic ritual.
Todd,
Thankyou so much for posting the Martha Carter thread!
WOW-what a fabulouse lady.
She is still a teacher in the afterlife because Im sure everyone reading her story will learn alot about making the most of life.
Also to show the ultimate love for her friends and family by truly caring about how they healed in thier grief over losing her.
I would be cremated, and I would like to be planted into soil of a brand new tree so my children could go there to sit under, and know it was left just for them.
I would like my children to be allowed at my funeral only if they want to be there as it is usually expected and maybe their are other ways to say good bye.
I just hope they remember me as happy and loving not my grumpy days.
Maybe one day i will write a letter to tell them how much i love them as sometime kids hear the scolding more than the praise and idd hate for them to question my love.
Also another wish is that my man find someone that will trully love my kids and him as much as i do.
good thread got me thinking!

simon did away with the sex forum - so i must take the tradional route and post under "make new friends.
" how mundane!.
fyi ---- for all of us, please take the time to write a sentence or two about yourselves, and encourage new ones to do the same.
Hello Monica-WELCOME!
Must say I do prefer your new name than 'prom queen not'.
Who wants to be prom queen anyway!
Havent figured out how to change my name but have gotten used to it now so thats ok.
Nice hearing all the stories about people and keep them coming!

i asked this in one of the threads ( http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=5335) but i would like to explore it further.. am i the only one to think this or did it seem like the sisters with unbelieving mates and children seemed to be "tolerated" or marginalized?
they never seemed to be "full" witnesses to anybody in the congregation?.
my name is slipnslideius masterus: commander of the armies of the north, general of the felix legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, marcus aurelius...
Outnfree,
Oh how I wish you had wiped the smug look of her face, you could have done this in' a christian' way but she would have felt a fool!
But the borg teaches us to be submissive not assertive.
My Dad was unbelieving and then divorced mum and she became the single sister so I know what its like. How I wished I had both parents there so that we would be treated with respect.
Another family of girls the same age as us was doted on by many because their Dad died befor they came into the borg. They were viewed as much more' spiritual',but they had tons of support and only we knew what they were up to at school!
If I could do it all again'no thanks!'..I would stick up for myself and my family. And I would be more helpful to the single mums who are doing an amasing job with the best intentions for their family!

the sentiments in this were just so lovely i had to pass it on.
not a mother, maybe you know a mother who would love this salute.. .
this is for all the mothers who have sat up all night with sick toddlers.
That was such a nice thing to do Jang!
I love your posts!
Thankyou jez
i have been thinking lately how differently i raise my kids now as compared to when i was a jw.
my oldest son had the bad luck to have a mom who was trying to be the perfect jw single mom.
i. was really mean to him at times.
Hi Pam
nice meeting you!
I can sympathise, have you taken your children to a bookstudy?
I think its even worse because they think they are visiting!
When I was re-attending meetings a couple of years back,I took jasmine (2 at time) along.
During the prayr(sp?)she called out 'kitty kitty'while looking out the window.
Then she took of and a nice young Bro put her on his knee, which she sat on happily, only to be noticed(smelt) that she had pooped her nappy on his knee!
She didnt sit the whole time.
The wife of the bkstudy conductor looked down her nose at me and
It was so stressful that i never went back to bkstudy.
What was I meant to do?
Take her out back for smacks when she couldnt understand why?
O ..also last time I went to a district assembly I saw a sister who kept smacking her under 1yr olds bottom for wanting to stand on her lap!
Really made me think!!
With regs smacking in kinghall-Your dambed if you do and your dambed if you dont!!

THESE PEOPLE ARE GONNA GET A SHOCK IF WE ARE ALL WRONG AND ARMAGGEDON DOES COME.
Because it says in the big book 'God is not one to be mocked'.
Do they think that because they are penciled into the book of life that they will escape judgement?
Do they think God will shelter them from the truly horrible catastrophies?
Do they think they wont be splattered with the blood and brains of innocent children?
Do they realy believe it at all,or are they scared to leave coz they will lose their families?
Jez(angry class)
the following is on the back cover of the book the hiram key.. .
are the scrolls containing the secret teachings of jesus buried in scotland?.
the discovery that the most important incantation of freemasonry is spoken in ancient egyptian was the turning point of a six year quest to find the lost roots of the order.
THP,
Thankyou for this info
I would be interested in reading this book as I think there must be more to the bible than we currently know.
Its like a puzzle with missing pieces.
